A new research report, developed by St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland in partnership with the University of Queensland, highlights the lasting positive impact of the Society’s compassionate, community-based disaster recovery efforts across the state.

The Support That Lasts report shows how the Society’s Members and volunteers help build trust, reduce stigma around seeking help, and focus on long-term socioemotional support and housing recovery to foster resilient communities.

The report encourages the Society to continue to deliver and enhance our compassionate support practices and suggests the potential to build a community of practice with other stakeholders and improve collaborative efforts.
