Our disability employment businesses

The St Vincent de Paul Society offers employment options for people living with a disability in certain areas of New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria. The opportunity to participate in employment can be important to reinforcing a sense of self-worth and wellbeing. It provides opportunities for people living with a disability to integrate and socialise with the broader community, breaking down barriers between the two.

Disability enterprises give people living with a disability the opportunity to earn a wage, and team members, including those with intellectual disabilities are encouraged to undertake recognised training programs and extra-curricular activities.

Services on offer

Our diverse range of disability employment businesses involve everything from recycling, packaging and assembly services in Melbourne and Sydney to textiles recycling in country NSW and a commercial knitwear mill Tasmania, plus much more.

These businesses also offer very competitive prices to the general public and businesses who are seeking to fulfil orders large and small. International customer enquiries are also welcome.

We invite you to use Vinnies disability employment services the next time you or your business requires expert and timely services. Please see business details below.

Case study: Vinnies values everyone’s ability

In 1965, at just fifteen, Cheryl left school in search of a job. She found an opening at the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Central Sorting Centre and 50 years later is still working hard. She has etched her name as one of the longest service employees in the Society’s history.

In her time with the Society, Cheryl, who has an intellectual disability, spent 24 years working with the Central Sorting Centre, six years with the James Moloney Work Centre in Lewisham involving general packaging and cutting duties, and 20 years at Ozanam Industries in Stanmore.

Ozanam Industries is a Special Work of the St Vincent de Paul Society dedicated to supplying high quality service solutions to the Australian business community.

Ozanam Industries proudly employs over 100 Australians with varying forms of disabilities at their West Ryde, Stanmore and Coonamble (Western NSW) sites.
