Submission on Tax Laws Amendment (Incentivising Food Donations to Charitable Organisations) Bill 2024

The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council supports amendments to tax law to incentivise the donation of food to charitable organisations. This Society believes that as a community, we should be doing all we can to make sure people have enough to eat. This is a basic human right. This means making good quality, fresh food available to all. And in doing so, we should be minimising waste and supporting regional communities, farmers and growers.
