At St Vincent de Paul QLD, we run appeals each year to help people and families across Queensland who are doing it tough. We work closely with hundreds of schools and their communities who provide donations and funds to help those in need.

About Our Winter Appeal For Schools
At St Vincent de Paul QLD, we run a Winter Appeal during May and June each year to help people and families who are experiencing homelessness across Queensland. Homelessness is a growing issue in Australia, with over 100,000 people displaced and without a place to call home.
We work closely with hundreds of schools and their communities in Queensland to provide donations and funds, helping these people find somewhere safe and stable to live.
How It Works
During Term 2, your school is invited to participate in the Winter Appeal. You can raise much-needed funds for people experiencing homelessness or collect donations of blankets, warm clothing and/or food from your local community. We give these donations to those people and families who need it most in your local community, in time for winter.
How Vinnies Can Help Your School
The Vinnies Youth team can support your school’s Vinnies Winter Appeal fundraising efforts by:
- speaking to students to raise awareness of homelessness and poverty,
- liaising with local Conferences; and
- collecting donations and thanking students at assembly.
Where The Money Goes
The Vinnies Winter Appeal supports people and families who are experiencing homelessness by helping them to pay bills, provide food, warm clothing, blankets and ultimately, a safe place to live and call home.
About Our Christmas Appeal For Schools
At St Vincent de Paul QLD, we run a Christmas Appeal each year to help people and families across Queensland who are doing it tough during the festive season. We work closely with hundreds of schools and their communities who provide donations and funds to help those in need.
How It Works
During Term 4, your school is invited to participate in the Christmas Appeal. You can raise funds, write Christmas cards and/or donate goods or gifts. We use these funds to make up gift hampers and give them to people in need or who are socially isolated in your school’s local community.
How Vinnies Can Help Your School
The Vinnies Youth team can support your school’s Vinnies Christmas Appeal fundraising efforts by:
- speaking to students to raise awareness of homelessness and poverty,
- liaising with local Conferences; and
- collecting donations and thanking students at assembly.
Where The Money Goes
The Vinnies Christmas Appeal supports people and families who are struggling by providing them with money, food, clothing, hampers, and presents for Christmas.
