Our In-Home Care Services
By working together, we ensure we can provide the appropriate level of support to Queenslanders from all walks of life, all with their own unique needs.
At St Vincent de Paul QLD we offer two In-Home Care Services for people aged 65 and over – our Home Maintenance and Modification Program and the Home Assist Secure Program. Our aged care services will help give you peace of mind that your home is safe and secure.

About The Home Maintenance and Modification Program
By working together, we ensure we can provide the appropriate level of support to seniors, all with their own unique needs.
We want to help you live independently in your own home for as long as possible. If you are over 65 years of age and living in your own home, our Home Maintenance and Modification Program offers subsidised support for home maintenance and home modifications.
This program is funded by the Commonwealth Government under the Commonwealth Home Support Program. We work with a team of qualified external contractors who provide a professional and timely service.
Our Home Maintenance and/or Modification services are available across:
- Gold Coast
- South Brisbane
- Logan River Valley
- West Moreton
- Roma

Below is a list of the minor home modifications we offer. We also provide major modifications including stairlifts (both internal and external), bathrooms, ramps, pathways etc. These are subject to eligibility, funding and availability.
St Vincent de Paul QLD - Minor Home Modifications Include:
- Anti-Slip Strips and Non-Slip Strips used for Ramps
- Bath Board
- Bed/Chair Raisers using fabricated blocks or a platform/system
- Door reversal for the Toilet/Bathroom
- Grab Rails - standard sizes and modular
- Hand Rails
- Ramps
- Shower Base – fabricated, OT Referral Only
- Shower Screen inc removal and installation of curtain rod and fittings
- Special Rails - timber only
- Step/s - fabricated
- Wedges - rubber and wooden
- Drop Down Rail
- Hand Held Shower - standard slider or mid hook
- Hand Held Shower - Grab Rail
- Taps for inside including 1/4 turn taps / lever taps / special taps
- Light Sensor installation
- Anti-Slip Treatment
Are You Eligible?
To be eligible, you must:
- be over 65 years old,
- have a pension card, and
- be assessed by My Aged Care first by calling 1800 200 422.
Once you are assessed for our home maintenance or home modification services, a referral will be sent to us and we will contact you to discuss your in-home care needs, subject to available funding.

About The Home Assist Secure Program
The St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland has been supporting Queenslanders in need since 1984.
If you are over the age of 60 and have a pension card or of any age receiving a disability pension, our Home Assist Secure Program can support you to feel safer living at home. Our minor maintenance services can help improve how you access your home and build home security checks into your daily routine.
We provide free information and support for home maintenance, how to prevent falls, how to make repairs and modifications to your home, and how to improve your home security. You can learn more about the Queensland Home Assist Secure program here.

Are You Eligible?
To be eligible, you must:
- Over 60 years old, and have a pension card, or any age and be receiving a disability pension
You must also:
- Be unable to have the works completed through federal funding such as
Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), a Home Care Package
(HCP), Support at Home (SAP), Queensland Community Support Scheme
(QCSS) or Veterans’ Home Care
All home modifications under the In-Home Care Services require referrals from a qualified Occupational Therapist. We have a team of Occupational Therapists who work with us, but you can also choose your preferred OT to undertake a home assessment and provide us with their recommendations.
