Youth and Schools WA

We aim to strengthen our relationship with young people and offer the opportunity to learn through our engagement with Primary and Secondary Schools.

We encourage teachers to champion a Mini Vinnies or Young Vinnies advocacy group in their school community. These groups connect student core learning outcomes with meaningful experiences focused on social justice issues, whilst thinking innovatively about how to provide much needed support and assistance to people in need in our local communities.

Primary Schools - Mini Vinnies

Mini Vinnies is a group of primary school students that want to become volunteers, advocates and fundraisers within their school and local community.

Mini Vinnies are empowered to put their faith into action and meet regularly to learn about social justice issues, develop leadership skills and engage with the wider St Vincent de Paul Society.

To get your school involved, check out the Mini Vinnies Starter Kit.

Secondary Schools - Young Vinnies

Young Vinnies groups are a great introduction into the St Vincent de Paul Society, allowing members to experience its ethos, while developing leadership skills.

Put your faith into action by actively coordinating volunteer driven projects, events and initiatives that allow students to reflect on the needs in their community, help develop empathy, compassion and understanding with their fellow students, and share their passion to raise awareness about social justice issues.
