After eight years at the helm of Vinnies WA, Susan Rooney has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer.

During her tenure, Vinnies WA experienced significant organisational growth, expanded its service delivery, and strengthened its financial sustainability. Under her leadership, the number of people assisted annually by Vinnies WA increased from approximately 38,000 to more than 61,000.

Key organisational developments during this period included the implementation of comprehensive practice frameworks, achievement of service accreditation, and the introduction of an impact measurement framework to support evidence-based community services. These initiatives contributed to enhanced service delivery and improved outcomes for individuals and families facing disadvantage across Western Australia.

Susan also played a pivotal role in guiding the organisation through several external challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining operational stability and continuity of support services.

Susan concludes a distinguished professional journey, having held executive and senior roles across the not-for-profit and government sectors, including in health, welfare, disability, aged care, and emergency services.

Vinnies WA Executive Manager of Business Services, Ann Curran, has been appointed Acting CEO while St Vincent De Paul Society WA State Council finalises the recruitment process for a permanent Chief Executive Officer.
