Thanks to the generosity of community knitting groups across Perth, Ozanam House in Canning Vale now has an abundant supply of knitted blankets, scarves and beanies to distribute to struggling West Australians this winter.

The deluge of donations followed calls for more blankets, scarves and build to build up a winter supply, which aims to help people get through the chilly winter temperatures.

An overwhelming response to the knitted donation drive has seen the knitting storeroom at Ozanam House filled to the brim, which will soon be available for Members to collect and distribute to people in need across the 75 plus Emergency Relief locations in Perth and WA.

"I am overwhelmed at the generosity of our volunteers who sprang into action, rallied friends and family, and responded to the call by churning out hundreds of beautifully crafted scarves," Vinnies WA Manager of Volunteer Services May Bowden said.

"Our conference members will be very happy to collect these treasures for their communities."

Thanks to the time and generosity of these wonderful skilled knitters, we can help bring some warmth and hope to West Australians doing it tough this winter.
