The St Vincent de Paul Society Western Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Ann Curran as its new Chief Executive Officer following a thorough and considered selection process conducted by the WA State Council.
Ann brings to the role seven years of executive leadership within the organisation as Executive Manager, Business Services and more recently as Acting CEO.
She has demonstrated exceptional capability in leading our business operations, financial stewardship, risk management and workforce development, ensuring the Society remains robust, sustainable and future-focused.
Ann’s appointment comes as the Society in WA marks its 160th anniversary in 2025, a significant milestone in the organisation’s history of standing alongside West Australians in need.
Her diverse experience reflects a strong commitment to ethical leadership, social impact, and operational excellence.
Of her appointment, Ann says: “I am truly honoured to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at a time when the Society’s mission is more vital than ever. For 160 years, St Vincent de Paul Society has stood alongside Western Australians, offering support, dignity, and hope to those facing hardship.
“As we look to the future, my focus is on building on that legacy ensuring that our services remain compassionate, innovative and effective in helping people break the cycle of poverty.
“With the continued dedication of our staff, Vincentians, members, volunteers and partners, I am committed to strengthening our ability to provide not just immediate assistance, but lasting, transformative support for West Australians when they need it most.”
WA State President of the Society Danny Cloghan says: “The State Council has absolute confidence in Ann’s ability to lead the Society through its next chapter. Over the past seven years, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of our mission and operations, combined with a strong strategic mindset and a values driven approach to leadership.
“Ann has played a key role in strengthening our financial sustainability, modernising systems, and supporting the people and structures that enable our frontline services.
“Now as CEO, she brings both continuity and renewed vision, qualities that will be instrumental as we grow our impact and respond to the increasing complexity of need in our community.
"Under Ann’s leadership, the Society will continue to deliver compassionate, person- centred support while driving innovation and building a stronger, more resilient organisation for the future.”
Ann will commence as CEO with immediate effect.
