Youth Mobile Support
We can travel where needed to assist youth experiencing homelessness.
Supporting You Through Our Youth Mobile Support Program
The St Vincent de Paul Society QLD team is working together to strengthen communities all across the state.
At St Vincent de Paul QLD, if you are under 25 years old and live in Sunshine Coast or Townsville, our Youth Mobile Support program can help you transition out of homelessness into finding a safe and comfortable home. We also have services to support you to maintain a tenancy or to prevent your tenancy from becoming at risk.
‘Mobile Support’ means just that – we are mobile! Our team can travel to your location, so you don’t need to worry about travelling to us. Our friendly team will work with you to discuss your specific housing needs in your local area, and visit at a time of the day that suits you within regular trading hours.
Our Youth Mobile Support program provides immediate support to homeless youth by offering you:
- Basic necessities such as bedding, meals and laundry facilities,
- Information on what housing is available and for how long,
- Advice on how to find more permanent, secure, and comfortable housing,
- Referral support, where we can link you with other services including healthcare, employment, and tenancy support.
How Our Youth Mobile Support Program Works
Every day we work with young people at risk of becoming homeless and provide early intervention for at risk youth, so you can feel confident knowing that you will be listened to and looked after.
Our Youth Mobile Support team will:
- Assess your current housing situation,
- Develop a support plan to help you get back on your feet,
- Follow-up with you regularly to ensure your housing situation is working for you,
- Help you through any other needs you might have.
Did You Know? We work very closely with other agencies and services including housing providers, mental health services, drug and alcohol support services, and education and training providers. This means we can make sure you get comprehensive support and access to the services you need.
We want to ensure you get the right help. If you're ready to get assistance, read below for eligibility and next steps.
