Drought Community Support Initiative - Round 2

As the impact of the drought continues, Vinnies is working together with the Australian Government to deliver the Drought Community Support Initiative (DCSI) – Round 2, for eligible drought-affected households.
If you are a farmer, farm worker or supplier/contractor (includes sale yard and abattoir workers) and you are facing hardship due to drought you could be entitled to immediate financial support of up to $3000.
To be eligible you need to be:
- 18 years old or older
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Living and/or working in an eligible Local Government Area
Payments might cover numerous expenses such as groceries, vehicle maintenance, energy & utility bills, health & medical expenses. The benefit is limited to 1 per household up to a maximum cash payment of $3000.
Please note that assistance might be provided by either The Salvation Army or Vinnies, depending on your Local Government Area (LGA). The list of eligble LGA's and which organisation you should approach can be found here.

Please note that round 2 funding of the Drought Community Support Initiative has been open since 19 November 2019 and will continue until December 2020. You can only receive payment once during this period.
