Vinnies Visitation Volunteers

Be at the front line of our Community Services. Vinnies Visitation Volunteers are usually affiliated with our Conferences; however, you do not need to be a Vinnies Member to participate in home Visitations. Visit people in need of connection in their home, in hospital or assist with prison visits. 

Vinnies is looking for people who...

  • Have an interest in our community.
  • Can handle difficult conversations and provide meaningful support and understanding.
  • Work as a team under the direction of an experienced Home Visitation Member or Volunteer.
  • Are willing to travel with as a team to a Companions home to deliver a Home Visitation. 
  • Can give as many hours as you wish to both the visitation and reflection as per Vinnies NT Visitation Guide.

The Role:

  • Work with a mentor and receive training to become a Home Visitation Volunteer.
  • Training and Support provided by St Vincent de Paul Society experienced Home Visitation Members or Volunteers.  
  • Visit Companions and support compassionate conversation and connection. 
  • Learn and understand Vinnies Services and referrals to other services. 
  • Handle private and confidential information and data for reflection.
  • 100% discretionary - need a break, we will support you.

Casuarina, Holy Spirit Conference 

Darwin City, St Mary's Conference

Karama, Holy Family Conference

Parap, St Paul's Conference  

Personal Protective Equipment / Clothing and Uniforms:

Vinnies ask all Volunteers wear:

  • Enclosed shoes.
  • Casual, conformable and appropriate clothing for the role above.
  • Uniforms are not provided.
  • You will receive a St Vincent de Paul Society Name Badge.
