Ozanam House Day Centre for the Homeless Volunteers
1 in 17 Territorians experience Homelessness every night. Ozanam House Day Centre for the Homeless Volunteers foster a safe place to restore hope and dignity. It is the only homeless centre in Darwin and is a front-line service that works with some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Vinnies is looking for people who...
- Have an interest in our community.
- Are keen to make friends and work together under the direction of the Centre Coordinator.
- Can give 3 hours per week/ fortnight or month 'up to' as many hours as you wish.
- Have availability Monday to Friday between 7am - 1pm.
The Role:
- Training and Support provided by the Centre Coordinator.
- 100% discretionary - you choose your own hours!
- Greeting guests and foster a compassionate and respectful environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals in the Ozanam House Kitchen.
- Serving meals (breakfast/ lunch).
- Collecting and washing laundry including towels from shower services.
- Learn and understand Vinnies Services and referrals to other services.
- Centre Cleaning
