<p>1 in 17 Territorians experience Homelessness every night. Ozanam House Day Centre for the Homeless Volunteers foster a safe place to restore hope and dignity. It is the only homeless centre in Darwin and is a front-line service that works with some of the most vulnerable people in our community.&nbsp;</p>

Volunteering with Vinnies is a rich and rewarding experience. Our volunteers donate their time to make a real difference in the lives of others.
The St Vincent de Paul Society NT has been supporting Territorians since 1949. We offer support services including Ozanam House homeless day centre, emergency relief, community housing and aged care. Our network of Vinnies Shops re-sell quality donated items to fund our charity works. We are supported by generous volunteers, conference members and donations.

<h3><strong>Vinnies is looking for people who...</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Have an interest in our community.</li>
<li>Are keen to make friends and work together under the direction of the Centre Coordinator.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Can give 3 hours per week/ fortnight or month 'up to' as many hours as you wish.</li>
<li>Have availability Monday to Friday between 7am - 1pm.</li>
</ul>

<h3><strong>The Role:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Training and Support provided by the Centre Coordinator.&nbsp;</li>
<li>100% discretionary - you choose your own hours!</li>
<li>Greeting guests and foster a compassionate and respectful environment.</li>
<li>Prepare nutritious meals in the Ozanam House Kitchen.</li>
<li>Serving meals (breakfast/ lunch).</li>
<li>Collecting and washing laundry including towels from shower services.</li>
<li>Learn and understand Vinnies Services and referrals to other services.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Centre Cleaning</li>
</ul>

<h3><strong>Personal Protective Equipment / Clothing and Uniforms:</strong></h3>
<p>Vinnies ask all Volunteers wear:</p>

<li>Enclosed shoes.</li>
<li>Casual, conformable and appropriate clothing for the role above.</li>
<li>Uniforms are not provided.</li>
</ul>
