Emergency Assistance and Support program

Earlier this week, Community Services Minister Sabine Winton stopped by our Vinnies headquarters in Canning Vale to officially present a cheque for a $2 million Lotterywest grant.

The funding is already helping us provide our Emergency Assistance and Support program to the community, which includes help with things like food, bills, petrol and housing.

Given the Minister is new to the role, we took the opportunity to show her around our distribution centre and talk her through how we provide support to over 61,000 West Australians every year.

In presenting the cheque, Minister Winton acknowledged the hard work of Vinnies volunteers.

“Vinnies WA and their incredible volunteers play such an important role in supporting Western Australians through tough times.

“This collaboration means people doing it tough can receive kindness, support, and a pathway for a better future", she said.
