Homelessness Week 2023

It’s Homelessness Week, and it’s an important opportunity for us to acknowledge the incredible work homelessness services in Western Australia do.

Across the nation, more than 122,000 people are estimated to be homeless. In WA alone, more than 9,700 people do not have safe and secure accommodation tonight.

Alarmingly, recent Census data shows us that the number of rough sleepers in WA rose from 1,083 in 2016 to 2,315 people in 2021 making WA the place with the highest proportion of rough sleepers in the country.

Our Vinnies WA services include Tom Fisher House, an intensive intervention service for adults, and two Passages Youth Engagement Hubs* – one in Perth, the other in Mandurah - which provide services to young people.

Stay tuned for more updates from our homelessness services throughout Homelessness Week.

*Our Passages Hubs are run as a joint venture between Vinnies WA and the Rotary Club of Perth and Mandurah.
