Learn More About Our No Interest Loans (NILS)
By working together, we ensure we can provide the appropriate level of financial support to Queenslanders from all walks of life, all with their own unique needs.
Our No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) is a community credit program across Queensland where you can secure a loan and once the loan is repaid, another loan may be secured. Through NILS, we can lend you up to $2000* with repayments from $35 per fortnight if you meet our eligibility criteria.
At St Vincent de Paul QLD, we are here to support you and your family through financial troubles. No Interest Loans are a great finance option because there is no interest and no hidden fees. With most of the 'fast loans' available in the market, there are often extra charges and high interest, so you end up paying a lot more than the loan itself. NILS allows us to offer an alternative, safer option to those in need, that will prevent additional financial distress.

What Can a No Interest Loan Be Used For?
No Interest Loans of up to $2000* can be used to purchase essential goods and services such as whitegoods (e.g. no interest fridges and no interest washing machines), household furniture, car registration renewal, car repairs, medical/dental services, and other household items.
No interest whitegoods loans are ideal if you are having difficulty getting finance to pay for these essential items.
If you are only receiving Youth Allowance or Jobseeker benefit, maximum loan amount is $1,000.
*NILS cannot be used for cash, rental arrears, bond, holidays, bills or debt consolidation. The loan funds are paid directly to the store or service provider where you purchase the item.
Other Loans Available

Are You Eligible?
To be eligible for a No Interest Loan, you must:
- be over 17 years old,
- be a low-income earner or receive a Centrelink payment; and
- have been at your current or previous address for a minimum of three months.
