As bushfires continue to destroy homes across the Western Downs, our Society has reinstated the Bushfire Appeal to help those who have lost their homes and livelihoods in the blaze.

The funds raised from the Bushfire Appeal will help our Members and Volunteers as they continue to support fire-impacted Companions with their long-term recovery.

This is the second time this year this region has been devastated by bushfires.

If you are interested in making a donation to support the long-term recovery of the people impacted, visit qld.vinnies.org.au/bushfire2023

As many areas across Queensland are currently at a high fire risk, we are continuing to monitor the situation in case further support is needed in other regions.

Our experience with disaster support has told us that help is especially needed for longer-term recovery in the weeks and months following the event.

Our teams in the Toowoomba and Brisbane Diocese are currently working together to continue assistance to fire-impacted families in the Western Downs.

We share our sincere thanks to our Members and Staff from nearby Conferences in Dalby, Chinchilla, Miles and Toowoomba for their continued support of families in impacted communities across the Western Downs.
