What is Ormonde House?

Ormonde House provides medium to long term supported accommodation in single air-conditioned rooms. Affordable rent and board are charged in advance and the service is Commonwealth Rent Assistance eligible. Meals are included in the tariff and residents are provided with shared facilities and a laundry. Residents are expected to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the facility through participation in the daily chores roster. Staff are on hand to assist residents to transition from homelessness to mainstream tenancies.

Who can access this service?

Only single men, aged over 18 years who are experiencing homelessness can access accommodation at Ormonde House. 

Where is the service located?

Ormonde House is located 300km south of Darwin in the township of Katherine.

Who benefits from this service?

Ormonde House provides residents with a safe and welcoming environment. Safe social interaction helps residents to develop a sense of self respect, belonging and purpose.
