A stronger, more diverse and independent community sector

The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia outlines some of the challenges being faced by the community sector and ways in which governance can be improved.

The Society argues that better use of the Commonwealth Grants Hub and Data Exchange can create a more integrated and inclusive approach to data analysis, and a more efficient way to measure service delivery and outcomes.

The Society also advocates for tailored risk assessments of grantees, increased flexibility in grant agreements, and improved processes with respect to determining and advising grantees of indexation.

The Society also recommends increased collaboration, more inclusive guidelines, and better resource allocation to enhance disaster relief capabilities and evaluations.
