[SOD TURN] 24 SEPTEMBER 2025
St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria and VincentCare Community Housing have received funding from Housing Australia Future Fund Facility (HAFFF), and the Catholic Development Fund to deliver essential social and affordable housing in Melbourne’s west.
Construction has begun in Maribyrnong to build 83 high-quality homes for Victorians experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness, providing safe and stable housing to more than 150 individuals and families.
This project highlights the power of collaboration between the federal government, the community housing sector and the Catholic Development Fund to drive lasting change in the fight against homelessness.
With more than 146,000 Victorians in need of social housing, these projects are part of the systemic change needed to address the homelessness crisis.
The cohort of residents that will live in the apartments focuses on those who are most in need of housing. This includes women and children escaping domestic violence, older women at risk of homelessness, veterans, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians and front-line workers.
