The Welfare Call Centre located in Box Hill is the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking assist from the Society.

Call Centre volunteers receive and accurately record all requests for assistance which is then passed onto our local groups called conferences to enable them to carry out their work.

Our Welfare Call Centre - Box Hill operates weekdays Monday to Friday, 10.00am - 3.00pm excluding public holidays.

As a volunteer in our call centre, we require a commitment of one day per week as a minimum.

Essential skills required:

  • Clear communication (both verbal and written)
  • Computer literacy

Calls to our Welfare Call Centre assist people in our community that need a hand up and provides the conduit to receive support. Our volunteers will ascertain what service is available and arrange for the local conference to respond.

Volunteers are the backbone of the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria and come from all walks of life.

Each volunteer brings a unique set of skills, knowledge and experience and we welcome you all.

Applicants volunteering with the Welfare Call Centre - Box Hill must be over the age of 18 and not be a recipient of assistance from our conferences.
