Tas Textiles were asked to supply scarf options for the ‘Believer From The Beginning’ support packs, created for the new Tasmanian AFL Team.
Working with a local agency engaged by the AFL to find a suitable style, we were delighted when a decision was made to go with one of Tas Textiles’ extra lightweight scarves.
These items feature beautiful Australian-grown wool and are made in our Tas Textiles factory which has been producing a range of garments and other items for over 75 years. Located in Glenorchy as a Special Work of the Society, the mission of Tas Textiles is to enable people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience meaningful employment in a supportive environment. You can imagine the pride that the Tas Textiles team has in being involved in such a significant project.
Tas Textiles Executive Manager, Linda Goram-Aitken, said that it has been very exciting for everyone, particularly when we had to keep it under wraps.
“There are more than 92,000 people who have joined the Believers to date and so it is potentially huge for us,” Linda said.
“The comments online have been so nice – even the Premier has given us a shout out!”
