Bethlehem House

Bethlehem House, a Special Work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, is a modern, safe and compassionate accommodation that provides shelter and support for men who are in crisis or experiencing homelessness.

Located in central Hobart, Bethlehem House is the largest provider of crisis and transitional accommodation for men experiencing homelessness in Tasmania. It offers Hobart’s only 24 hour staffed service catering solely to men.

Accommodation at Bethlehem House includes:

  • Meals
  • Shower and laundry facilities
  • A gym
  • A workshop for crafts and trades
  • Three kennels for residents with dogs
  • Breakout areas and quiet spaces

We also offer individual and group support sessions, legal and housing support, and an employability program. These essential services and more assist our residents with gaining independence, so they can find permanent housing, a job, and a new pathway in life.

Currently providing up to 27,000 nights of safe and secure accommodation a year, Bethlehem House extends a warm welcome to those in crisis or experiencing homelessness.
