Volunteers experience the joy of volunteering

As part of Volunteers Week, the St Vincent de Paul Society held volunteer appreciation events in each region. The event served to thank all the volunteers who have so generously given of their time to assist the Society to deliver their good works to Tasmanians in need.

The event in Hobart was attended by around 100 volunteers and members of staff from the Society. As you can tell by the photos, it was a great event.

Volunteering with Vinnies is more than just giving of your time for a worthy cause and to assist the less fortunate. It is an opportunity to develop new skills, make new friends, and exercise that community spirit that lives within us all.

The St Vincent de Paul Society is so grateful to every volunteer that gives of their time and themselves to improve the lives of people who really need a friendly smile and a hand-up in their time of need. We are also incredibly proud of the work our volunteers do as part of the Vinnies family.

Of course, Vinnies is always on the look-out for like-minded people, from all walks of life, who might like to join our willing brigade of happy volunteers. We aim to ensure that everyone who joins us feels valued and supported in finding the best volunteering role that fits with their interest. We encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch and find out more about the many opportunities available, The Society's volunteer campaign is a call to action to all Tasmanians who want to make a positive difference in their communities.
