About Vinnies Stores.
Vinnies Stores across Tasmania are part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people experiencing poverty and hardship. Vinnies Stores aim to provide affordable and quality second-hand goods to the community while also generating funds to support the Society's various programs and services. Specifically, Vinnies Stores collect and sell pre-loved clothing, furniture, household items, and other goods donated by the community. We have Stores in almost every corner of Tasmania which offer a range of roles and opening hours.
Volunteers play an essential role in supporting Vinnies Stores' activities and achieving our mission. Some of the roles of a Vinnies Store volunteer may include:
- Sorting and pricing donated items
- Assisting customers in-store and providing a friendly and welcoming environment
- Operating the cash register and handling transactions
