Vinnies’ Vans operates across the North and North West Coast of Tasmania and are one of the good works of the St Vincent de Paul Society – a not-for-profit organisation.
Vinnies’ Vans provide food, drinks, and essential items to people experiencing homelessness and those in need. Vinnies operates several Vinnies’ Vans that travel to various locations across the North and North West of Tasmania, delivering vital support to those who need it most.

Some of the specific activities and initiatives undertaken by Vinnie’ Vans include:

<li>Distributing food, drinks, clothing, and personal care items to people in need;</li>
<li>Providing support and assistance to those experiencing homelessness, including information on a broad range of support services;</li>
<li>Operating a referral program to connect people in need with appropriate services and support; and</li>
<li>Offering kindness, empathy, and a friendly chat to people experiencing homelessness and poverty.</li>

Volunteers are an integral part of the Vinnies’ Vans operation – we could not offer this service without our valued vollies! Their contributions help to ensure the organisation can continue to support those in need. The duties of a Vinnies’ Vans volunteer typically include:
<ul>
<li>Preparing and serving food and drinks from Vinnies’ Van;</li>
<li>Distributing donated clothing and personal care items;</li>
<li>Engaging with people in need, providing a friendly and welcoming presence;</li>
<li>Assisting with setup and pack-down of Vinnies’ Van;</li>
<li>Driving the vans; and</li>
<li>Participating in fundraising activities, media activities, and community events.</li>
</ul>
