"Volunteering makes me feel part of the community and useful."
We operate 27 retail shops, commonly called ‘Vinnies’, which are a valuable resource enabling people to buy quality clothing and other household items at an affordable price. The funds raised from the sale of stock at Vinnies centres supports Vinnies programs and services.
Vinnies centres also provide clothing and household goods to people in need who are being assisted through our conferences. Centres also provide a point of contact for people seeking assistance.
Becoming a volunteer in one of the shops offers opportunities in a wide variety of roles including sales, merchandising, restocking or assisting with the day-to-day running of the shop. For many volunteers, Vinnies is a place of belonging, friendship, and social contact.
• We have opportunities for varied ages. Please check with the Volunteer Coordinator to confirm eligibility.
• Additional checks may also be required, including a National Criminal History Check, and/or reference checking.
We encourage our centres volunteers to hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card that can be applied for with assistance from our Volunteer Coordinator. Not holding a WWVP card does not restrict eligibility to volunteer in our centres.
