IGA supports Vinnies this Christmas
This Christmas, thousands of Australians will need support simply to put food on the table, keep the lights on and stay housed. That's why Vinnies and IGA are once again coming together to support local families facing financial hardship.
For the 15th consecutive year, Vinnies is proud to partner with IGA to provide practical assistance to Australians struggling with rising living costs.
While Christmas is often a time of celebration, for many families it can be one of the most stressful times of the year. Each year, Vinnies members and volunteers support more than half a million people with food, clothing, household essentials, help with everyday bills, and connections to longer-term support services.
Increasingly, people seeking support are employed, raising families and doing everything they can to stay afloat. Many have never needed help before, but ongoing cost-of-living pressures are making it harder to make ends meet.
Since becoming a national partner in 2012, IGA has raised more than $6.2 million through the sale of Community Chest products and Vinnies Christmas campaign items, helping Australians during times of hardship, natural disasters and financial uncertainty.
With the support of IGA and its customers, Vinnies will continue to provide practical assistance and hope to thousands of Australians this Christmas.
Help make Christmas brighter for local families
This November and December, visit your local IGA and help make Christmas a little brighter for someone in your community. Purchase a $2 Vinnies Christmas Bauble or choose products marked with a blue Community Chest ticket to support people doing it tough.
Vinnies Christmas Baubles will be available at participating IGA stores (including Tasmania) from 4 November to 29 December 2026, with all funds raised helping provide practical support to people in need.
Products marked with a blue Community Chest ticket will also help raise funds for the campaign and will be available through participating IGA stores from 2 December to 29 December 2026.
What does your support provide?
For Australians finding it harder to make ends meet, your support provides practical assistance, compassion and hope when it's needed most.
$89 can help provide a food hamper for a family to enjoy a meal together on Christmas Day.
$224 can help provide people with financial support and bill relief, so they don’t have to choose between a meal and keeping the lights on.
$657 can support people with housing costs so they can stay safely in their home and don’t end up facing homelessness.
