Inpatient treatment and clinical health services

Medical Withdrawal Management Unit

The Freeman House Withdrawal Management Unit provides medical withdrawal support to adults looking to detox from alcohol and/or substances of dependence. The unit is a nurse led unit providing 24/7 supervised care under the instruction of a General Practitioner.

Access to 24/7 medical support enables participants to address their additional healthcare needs as part of the withdrawal processes with opportunities for ongoing health and rehabilitation treatment where needed and available.

The Freeman House Withdrawal Management Unit may be accessed by participants wishing to continue the recovery journey through to the residential rehabilitation program, or for participants who require a short 7-14 day treatment stay.

Residential

Longer term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Service

Freeman House offers a voluntary residential rehabilitation service that provides support to adults and families who wish to address complex issues associated with their use of alcohol and / or other drugs (AOD). Treatment at Freeman House includes a program of group and individual AOD interventions, education and skills building, therapeutic activities, physical and mental health supports and wrap around family support.

The program is typically 3-12 months, inclusive of a transitional phase that encourages vocational pursuits, social connection and practical application of the skills learnt to foster a successful transition into community living.

Transition program

Independent transitional units are available on site for participants who have completed the core group programs of the residential rehabilitation service and whose recovery journey identifies supported living as a component of their ongoing treatment. These one bedroom units are fully selfcontained and allow participants to continue to receive support, while gradually transitioning into the community.
