Wagga Wagga Vinnies Charity Golf Day returns for 2026

Wagga Wagga Vinnies Charity Golf Day returns for 2026

Media Release
12/10/2026

Golfers across Wagga Wagga will tee off for a great cause next month as part of St Vincent de Paul Society NSW’s Charity Golf Day.

Returning in 2026 after a successful inaugural event last year, local golfers and businesses are encouraged to be part of a bigger and better day on Friday 13 November at Wagga City Golf Club to support the Society’s work in the community.

Funds raised on the day will go towards the important work of local Conferences and the Wagga Vinnies Van. Over 2,500 people in Wagga Wagga and surrounding communities were supported in the past year, with local Conference members providing $395,000 in financial and material assistance. The Wagga Vinnies Van supported over 2,600 people in its first year of operation, providing 2,900 meals and 500 snack and toiletries packs.

The Wagga Wagga Vinnies Charity Golf Day is aiming to raise $20,000 in 2026.

Solange Frost, Regional Director Operations South, St Vincent de Paul Society NSW, said “We had an outstanding reception to the Charity Golf Day last year, raising over $20,000, and we’re delighted to be back again for a bigger and better event. It’s a great day out that makes a huge impact to support people doing it tough in the community.”

Players on the course can take part in a four-person Ambrose format, along with testing their skill with the longest drive, nearest to the pin, and hole in one. Guests can also enjoy live music, a barbeque lunch, guest speakers and a charity auction.

Thank you to sponsors Geosecure and Riverina Wholesale Bakery for their support of the event; sponsorship opportunities for the day are still available at nsw.vinnies.org.au/golfday.

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW has seen sustained demand for assistance as a result of ongoing cost-of-living pressures during the past year. Food remains one of the greatest needs locally with four in five people requesting food assistance.

“The demand for support remains high in the community with over a quarter of the people supported by our members reaching out for the first time and a third experiencing housing stress,” said Ms Frost.

“Having events like the Charity Golf Day helps to raise awareness of the challenges facing our local community while raising vital funds to enable our members and services to give people support in times of need.”
