About us

The New England AOD Outreach Program provides community based person-centered case management, care coordination, and AOD treatment interventions with the specific aim of assisting our clients to achieve their AOD goals and to reduce drug related harm. We also work collaboratively with other services to address biopsychosocial barriers to AOD recovery and address specific local area needs.

Who we help

The New England AOD Outreach Program is targeted towards, but not limited to:

  • People living within the New England Northwest Region of NSW
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
  • Pregnant women and/or those with young children
  • Young people aged 16-24 years old
  • People exiting or involved with the criminal justice system
  • People with co-occurring substance misuse and mental health issues

Support provided

New England AOD Outreach Case Workers offer the following support services:

  • Case Management and Care Coordination
  • Access to and active engagement in local biopsychosocial supports
  • Assessment and treatment planning
  • Evidence based AOD intervention relevant to level of support needs
  • Strengths and rights-based practices
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Motivational Enhancement
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Trauma informed care
  • AOD and psychoeducation relative to recovery goals
  • Health care and other support service referrals
  • Community engagement
  • Support prior to or post completion of residential based drug and alcohol treatment
