14/03/2022 09:00 AM

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is back again for its 17th year across Australia to help put an end to homelessness and hardship.

Taking place on 23 June with NSW events in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, all funds raised will be used to support services and programs operated by Vinnies providing crisis accommodation, food, clothing, healthcare and much more to the most vulnerable members of our community.

Last year, more than 1,500 business and community leaders took part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout by raising funds, sleeping out and making a difference to the lives of people in need.

CEOSO - Journey Wall

Gain education on one of the greatest challenges facing our community

It is an alarming fact that on any given night more than 116,000 people experience homelessness across Australia.

As one of the greatest challenges facing our community right now, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout aims to shine a light on homelessness and related issues that have been overlooked and underfunded for far too long.

By taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, you can learn about the many and varied factors that play a part in so many people going without a fundamental right to shelter, such as the approximately 50,000 applicants waitlisted for social housing in NSW.

More importantly, you will also see how the services and programs run by Vinnies make a direct and immediate impact to people who fall on hard times.

Be part of a national fundraising institution

Since launching in 2006, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout has grown into one of the premier events on the Australian fundraising calendar.

Initially conceived as an alternative to formal fundraising dinners, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout has become an institution bringing leaders from business, politics and community groups together in pursuit of a common cause.

Each year, fundraising records are met and then surpassed; last year a phenomenal total of $9.3 million was raised through the collective efforts of more than 1,500 participants nationally.

Donations are tax deductible and allow Vinnies services to support people experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence, poverty and other forms of hardship.

You can change lives for the better

By taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, you can make a real difference to the lives of people who go without the basics most take for granted.

The events of the past three years have highlighted how vital it is for everyone to have access to a safe and secure place to live. Sadly, there remains thousands of people, including young children and a rising number of older women, who face each day without the certainty of knowing where they will sleep that night.

Vinnies is able to provide assistance to those most vulnerable members of our community with shelter, food, healthcare and support to thrive over the long-term. The generosity of participants is crucial to enabling this work to take place – we need your help to ensure we can continue assisting people in their time of need.
