The St Vincent de Paul Society extends its deepest gratitude to Friendly Care Pharmacies for their generous donation of $10,000. This contribution will greatly benefit individuals and families across Tasmania who rely on the Society's critical community work.

Friendly Care Pharmacies, a not-for-profit organisation with a rich history of over 125 years, has been serving its members and the community of Hobart since its establishment in 1882. Throughout its long-standing presence, Friendly Care Pharmacies have continuously demonstrated their commitment to the well-being of the community, providing competitive products and services, while ensuring that surplus funds are distributed to worthy causes that serve the community.

In addition to offering significant discounts to its members, Friendly Care Pharmacies allocate a portion of their annual profits to support local charities. Organisations such as Colony 47, City Mission, Vinnie's Men's Shed, Motor Neurone Disease Tasmania, Southern Cross Care, Asthma Foundation Tasmania, Heart Foundation Tasmania, and Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania, and now the St Vincent de Paul Society, have all benefited from the philanthropic efforts of Friendly Care Pharmacies.

The St Vincent de Paul Society CEO, Heather Kent, expressed her sincere appreciation for the $10,000 donation, highlighting the positive impact it will have on vulnerable individuals throughout Tasmania. She emphasised the importance of community support in the Society's mission to alleviate poverty and provide assistance to those in need.

"We are immensely grateful to Friendly Care Pharmacies for their generous contribution. Their donation will enable us to continue our critical community work, reaching out to individuals and families facing hardship. This support will make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on our services,” Ms Kent said.

The donation was presented to the Society by Mr Ed Kremzer, representing the Hobart Friendly Care Pharmacy Foundation. Mr. Kremzer, a member and supporter of Vinnies Men's Shed who is well known across Tasmania for his involvement in an array of community support roles, said he was pleased to know that the donation would help the Society to offer companionship and support to individuals in need. The $10,000 donation from the Foundation further exemplifies the Hobart Friendly Care Pharmacies’ commitment to uplifting the community and assisting the not-for-profit sector to make a positive impact in the community.

The St Vincent de Paul Society reaffirms its gratitude to Friendly Care Pharmacies and the Hobart Friendly Care Pharmacy Foundation for their unwavering dedication to the betterment of society. With this generous donation, the Society will continue its mission to provide vital support and assistance to those who need it most.
