After 30 years in its old location, the Vinnies retail store in Wembley has moved to a bigger and brighter location across the road, specifically fitted out to accommodate the Vinnies store.

The Retail Centre will be officially opened and blessed by Father Andrew Albis of the Floreat Wembley Catholic Parish on Friday 25 July 2014.

Among the 60 volunteers that keep the Wembley Vinnies store running, two have been volunteering at the retail centre for 30 years, since it first opened. Marrian Kelly and Joan Gangemi will both be receiving a certificate and gift at the official opening in recognition of their dedicated service to the organisation and the community in general.

St Vincent de Paul spokesperson Lucinda Ardagh said that to have two volunteers give of their time so selflessly every week for 30 years is an amazing testament to the wonderful support given to Vinnies.

“The Wembley retail store is fully self-sufficient, run solely on donations from the community, which just shows what great community spirit there is in the area,” Ms Ardagh said.

Media are invited to attend the official opening and blessing of the Wembley Vinnies Retail Centre.
