Vinnies is delighted to be partnering with IGA again this year to support people in local communities that have been economically and emotionally affected by COVID-19.  Sadly, the global pandemic that took the world by surprise earlier in 2020 has led Australia into the largest recession we have seen in three decades.

The impacts that COVID-19 has had on Australia’s economy is enormous and by the Federal Government’s prediction will see over 700,000 Australians unemployed by Christmas.

As always, Vinnies, with support from IGA will be there for thousands of Australians seeking assistance to pay their bills, rent and keep food on the table For many reaching out to Vinnies for help,  it will be their first experience in seeking assistance from a charity.

IGA has been a national partner of Vinnies since 2012. Through the sales of IGA Community Chest products and Vinnies Appeal tokens during the festive season, IGA has raised more than $2.7 million to support our work over the past several years. Now we’re calling for your support to raise funds to support the thousands of locals in your community who need a hand up to make ends meet.

Head into your local IGA this November and December to help locals in need by purchasing a $2 IGA Appeal token or any products with a Community Chest ticket.

IGA Appeal tokens will be on sale for $2 from 11 November to 29 December 2020, with all funds raised going directly to support people in need.

Plus products marked with a Community Chest will be available from 2-22 December 2020 at participating IGA and you can help us raise even more money just by doing your grocery shop.

What does your support provide?
