Whether you are looking for that unique piece or on a tight budget, the new bigger and better Vinnies Ipswich has something for everyone.
The new Vinnies shop, warehouse and support centre is at 272 Brisbane Street, West Ipswich. The shop is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sundays 10 am to 3pm.
St Vincent de Paul Society Western Diocese President Joe De Pasquale said that the 1000 metre square shop floor and warehouse would provide even more support for those doing it tough in the community.
"Our new home will allow us to provide a wider range of quality donated goods including a range of furniture to cater for as much of the Ipswich communities needs..."
"And we still have the little treasure whether it’s an accessory, clothing, a book, or an unusual household item for all bargain hunters. The warehouse provides an area for sorting donations and a convenient location for items to be dropped off during opening hours. From next week, our Ipswich Family Support Centre will operate from the space on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays between 9am and 12pm. Here they will provide the disadvantaged and marginalised in the community with emergency relief and access to the right services and programs," he said.
Mr De Pasquale said that the warehouse and shop relied on the generosity of volunteers for a range of tasks.
"We are calling on anyone who could spare a couple of hours or a day to donate their time for a range of tasks including sorting, merchandising and customer service. Drop into our shop and speak to the manager about the opportunities to help as part of the Vinnies team, learn new skills or make new friends while making a difference in the community. It’s thanks to our volunteers and donors that the funds raised through the shop can go back to people who need it the most in the community."
Vinnies shops provide people a place to purchase affordable good quality second hand items with dignity and respect. Anyone who would like to make a financial donation can visit www.vinnies.org.au/dosomething
