Youth programs, camps and sports

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel all youth events following the national guidelines for social distancing.
Regretfully, we cannot anticipate how long this restriction will last but will follow the advice of health authorities.

Home visits

Our process for managing home visitations has changed, but we will continue to support those in need within our community to the best of our ability.
Due to health risks and national guidelines for social distancing, our members can no longer meet face-to-face with their companions in their homes.
Food and other aid deliveries can still be made, but there can be no direct contact between people.
Please speak with our Helpline team about how your assistance will be managed when you call them for help.
If you are feeling unwell, are in self-isolation, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please tell our Helpline staff so that we are prepared and can assist you to the best of our abilities.

Emergency help

Food drops are still possible, but deliveries will be left in a safe place and there can be no direct person-to-person contact.
Please call 1800 Vinnies (1800 846 643) for all assistance enquiries and speak with our team members about how your assistance will be managed when you call them for help.
If you are feeling unwell, are in self-isolation, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please tell our Helpline staff so that we are prepared and can assist you to the best of our abilities.

Hostels, shelters and rehabilitation centres

Our homeless hostels and services will remain open and operating under strict health protocols.
If there is a case of COVID-19 in any Vinnies residential facility, we will work under the direction of federal and state health authorities and follow all their advice.
By necessity, visits to these facilities will be limited.

Tenants

Vinnies wants to continue business as usual but will limit person-to-person contact.
The most important thing you need to do is make sure St Vincent de Paul Society has your contacts details up to date. You should contact your local housing office and make sure they have your correct phone number, address and email.
A staff member will be available to answer your phone call during normal business hours even if that office has been forced to close.
