The St Vincent de Paul Society is dedicated to standing in solidarity with the most disadvantaged in our communities. As a lay Catholic organisation, we are heartbroken and despairing at the ongoing pain and suffering of those people who have been harmed through their involvement with the Church and educational institutions.
Our Society stands publicly in defence of, and offers assistance to, all people who are suffering through past harm, neglect, financial hardship, personal despair, homelessness and social isolation.
The embrace of those people who are struggling to come to terms with institutional responses to their situations of abuse, is paramount to the Society.
As an organisation, the National Council of the St Vincent de Paul Society has pledged the highest possible standards of service from its thousands of members, volunteers and staff.
Our thoughts and prayers and ongoing support and assistance are given to all who have suffered through the abuses and neglect of the past decades.
