New Vinnies shop opening in Gymea
Vinnies newest shop will be opening in Gymea, with an official opening on Wednesday, 24 May. The shop is located at Shop 83, Gymea Bay Rd and will be replacing the existing Miranda shop.
On offer will be a range of quality second-hand clothing for women, men and children, as well as accessories, homewares, bric-a-brac, books, toys and other household items.
Each week for the first two weeks there will be a lucky draw of gift basket for all those who spend or donate over $20 in store.
George Blakeley, Retail Operations Manager of the St Vincent de Paul Society Sydney Archdiocese, is very pleased to be opening another shop in the Sutherland Shire and looks forward to meeting the locals when they visit the new shop, especially those who have loyally supported the Miranda store.
“Vinnies relies heavily on funds generated by our shops to provide services for people in local communities across Sydney who are experiencing disadvantage,” says Mr Blakeley.
“Our customers can be assured that by shopping with us, they are supporting Sydney Vinnies services such as our Community Support Centres and local refuges. We also provided over $3 million worth of assistance to the local community, assisting over 31,000 people.”
The new Gymea Vinnies Shop is also looking for volunteers, so anyone with an interest in Vinnies and retail should enquire at the Shop about our volunteering opportunities.
Vinnies Gymea welcomes customers and donations of good quality items from Monday to Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 9am-5:30pm, Friday and Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.
