• $29.45/hr + 13% super + salary packaging

  • Monday to Friday with some weekend work

    Our Mental Health Services team provides supported accommodation, outreach services and friendship support for persons living with a chronic mental illness.

     

    Compeer matches people diagnosed with a mental illness with a 'friend' who is a caring and compassionate volunteer. Support is based on the simple premise that 'friendship is a powerful medicine' and reduces social isolation and promotes community engagement. 

     

    This role is solely responsible for coordinating all aspects of the program, matching volunteers, providing support to participants and all associated administrative, reporting, program educational and community events. Our services are Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work.

     

    If you have experience in community work, an understanding of the issues people, particularly with mental health issues face, a working with vulnerable persons card and a drivers license, please read on....

     

    Our Compeer Officer must have a high level of personal resilience, great communication, documentation and ICT skills. You must be self motivated with a strong desire to succeed! Experience with working collaboratively, negotiating and making decisions is essential while a sense of humour would be beneficial! Being highly organised and able to meet deadlines will set you apart from all other applicants. You will need minimum qualifications of a Certificate IV in mental health.
