Bosch – a Vinnies Community Champion
The team at Bosch Australia have come on board as Vinnies Community Champions. Not only have they committed to raising $30,000 through their community fundraising initiatives but they are also actively educating their workforce about the realities of homelessness.
With Bosch work teams charged with organising their own fundraisers, the initiatives have been many and varied. They’ve included barbeques, a computer swap where staff could purchase used PCs from the company and a silent auction where staff donated used office and personal items and other employees could bid on them.
Bosch staff have also organised their own Community Sleepout where employees were sponsored to sleep rough for the night to raise money for homelessness. While this sleepout was taking place at the Bosch office, their CEO Gavin Smith was also being sponsored to sleep out at the Vinnies CEO Sleepout at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Money raised by Bosch through the Vinnies Community Champion program will be used to help fund the Fitzroy soup van.
