A Vinnies Champion
A local icon, BankSA has been helping South Australians into their own homes, start and grow their businesses, and retire comfortably since 1848. But it’s BankSA’s commitment to supporting local communities that truly sets it apart as a bank for all South Australians.
BankSA employees have been supporting Vinnies since 2011, and in this time have raised over $517,000 to support South Australians at risk of or experiencing homelessness. With employees and branches across South Australia participating in BankSA’s own Sleepout for Vinnies, BankSA is consistently the highest South Australian fundraiser in Vinnies’ CEO Sleepout, and most recently the highest national fundraiser.
In 2017, BankSA’s incredible support grew even further, with the establishment of a new women’s centre that provides emergency accommodation for women in crisis and those fleeing domestic violence. The crisis centre was an idea pursued passionately by BankSA Chief Executive Nick Reade, who was instrumental in its development.
Across South Australia, BankSA employees continue to play an integral role in supporting Vinnies disaster appeals. During the recent Sampson Flat and Pinery bushfires, BankSA branches repurposed themselves as collection point for financial donations towards the appeal, as well as providing safe refuge and refreshments for residents and emergency workers in need of downtime.
Our corporate partnership continues to thrive, thanks to BankSA’s determination to help South Australians facing disadvantage and poverty in our community. Thank you to our friends at BankSA for their tireless dedication to helping us improve the lives of South Australians doing in tough.
