What is the service?
Free assistance is provided to migrants and refugees who have fled war, persecution and significant injustice. This service is provided by approximately forty volunteers and one part-time paid Co-ordinator.
Specific services include:
- housing and immigration information
- material assistance (food, clothing, basic furniture and payment of essential service bills)
- support for migrants released from detention
- advocacy, financial counselling and referrals to other support agencies
- education assistance
The service requires almost $372,000 to operate. Funding is almost entirely from community and business donations, together with some ‘emergency relief’ funding from the Federal Government.

This office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am - 4.30pm. Walk-ins welcome.
Can I volunteer for this Service?
Volunteers are most welcome. You only need a few hours each month to assist people in need. You will receive an induction, be guided through our processes and be covered by our insurance.
