What is Transitional Housing?

The Society has 17 houses within the Gold Coast region and surrounds which are provided as safe, secure and affordable transitional accommodation to families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

These houses are independent living and allow the family to transition out of crisis over a three month to 12 month period and exit into long term independent housing solutions.

Who can access this program?

To be eligible for transitional accommodation in these houses, applicants must meet program criteria.  Due to demand, availability may be limited, however the Society will seek to sources alternative accommodation options for those in need.

Where is the program located?

Houses are located at Coopers Plains, Acacia Ridge, Crestmead, Logan Central, Kingston and Sunnybank.

What are the benefits of accessing this program?

Transitional Housing provides safe, secure and affordable transitional accommodation to those in times of need to assist them to break the cycle of homelessness and to secure long term, independent and sustainable housing solutions.
