What is the service?
Illawarra Homeless Coordination Services provide specialist support to people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of experiencing homelessness. The service has a community centre where people can access showers, toilets and laundry facilities. The centre also hosts a learning centre and outreach services where people can access external services/agencies through outreach.
The community centre also has a six bed men’s refuge, separated from the main centre.
The Illawarra and Shoalhaven Vinnies Van is also based here. The Vinnies Van service provides meals, social engagement and material/social support for people experiencing homelessness in the region.

The service is open to everyone including families, youth and single men and women.

What are the benefits of accessing the service?
The service offers specialised support with 5 on site case workers who provide outreach support, assessment, inter-agency support and referrals. The centre is an open and welcoming environment open to everyone. The centre features a courtyard, community and learning centre, interview rooms and open areas to relax and enjoy a tea or coffee. The centre is a safe place for the people we assist to feel safe to discuss and work through their issues towards a sustainable outcome.
