What are the Holiday Flats?
The Wollongong Central Council operates two sets of holiday flats on the NSW South Coast, for families experiencing disadvantage that may not have had the opportunity for themselves and their children to go on a holiday. The Tom McGee Holiday Flats in Gerroa and the Mollymook Holiday Flats comprise of three separate units with each unit able to accommodate 4-6 people for families in need of respite.
Who can access this service?
Referrals to the service are made by St Vincent de Paul Society Conference members who carry out home visitation work across NSW and other St Vincent de Paul services and programs.
Where are the Tom McGee Holiday Flats located?
These holiday flats are located in Gerroa, overlooking and within walking distance to Seven Mile Beach.
Where are the Mollymook Holiday Flats located?
These holiday flats are located in Mollymook, five minutes away from Mollymook beach.
What are the benefits of accessing the service?
The holiday flats provide respite for families from stresses and struggles they may face daily. It also gives an opportunity for families experiencing disadvantage to spend quality time together.
Can I volunteer to assist at the Holiday Flats?
The committee that supports the flats is made up of St Vincent de Paul Society conference members from Gerringong, Berry and Shoalhaven Head Conferences. Local conferences always welcome new members. If you would like to join a local Conference please refer to the Get Involved page.
