Vinnies Van Wollongong

Vinnies Van Illawarra and Shoalhaven

What is the Vinnies Van?

The Vinnies Van operates five nights per week, providing friendship, compassion and dignity to those experiencing homelessness and social isolation in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions. In the 2017-18 financial year, the Vinnies Van provided more than 16,500 meals and a range of essential items to support those in need. The service also helps foster connections between clients and other support services through referrals.

Volunteers are able to show those in need that people do care, creating a genuine community of friends from all walks of life.

Other services include information/referral to support services and material aid (blankets and swags, toiletries, hygiene packs and the like).
