Mental Health Support
Como Social & Leisure Centre provides opportunities for adults living in the Sutherland Shire who are experiencing a mental health issue to socialise, participate in recreational activities and access other local community resources such as Centrelink and Housing NSW.
Staff and volunteers provide friendly and supported centre-based and community access programs for people living with mental health issues. A variety of person-centred programs are offered to support people to make choices, engage in community activities and build meaningful friendships with others who share similar goals and interests.
Through experience, we know that regular attendance has enabled many lasting peer friendships and has also facilitated the development of strong support networks with staff, volunteers and the local community.
Our staff and dedicated team of volunteers will work with you to develop programs and activities that meet your interests, develop living skills and support you to meet personal goals.
We also provide programs that support those who are caring for someone with a mental health issue.
