Your Will is your last gift

Written wisely, it can give your family and friends peace of mind. Firstly discuss your intentions with your family or a friend and then seek legal guidance. A Will is a legal document and should be prepared in consultation with a trusted legal advisor.

We recommend that you review your Will regularly to reflect your current circumstances, keep it safe and easy-to-access, and advise your executors where the original is kept.

Should you generously decide to include a gift to the St Vincent de Paul Society in your Will, please ensure you use our correct wording as listed below:

Suggested wording for a bequest to the St Vincent de Paul Society:

I bequeath to the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria Inc. ABN: 28 911 702 061 in aid of:

a. The charitable works of the Society at its discretion, or

b. The charitable works of the Society in the specific field of __________________________

the sum of $ ____________, or

the residue of my estate, or

____________ % share of the residue of my estate, or

all my property known as ____________________ and situated at _________________________________________________________ or

other __________________________________________________________________

and I declare that the receipt of the President or Treasurer of the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria Inc. shall be sufficient discharge for the same.

The best type of gift you can nominate to the Society in your Will is a percentage and/or residual gift because both keep their value over time.
