The St Vincent de Paul Society has been helping Queenslanders in need since 1894.

The Society differs from most charitable organisations in that our members, known as Vincentians, and volunteers deliver the core of our work.

More than 8,649 Vincentians and volunteers across Queensland help those who are struggling to take control of their lives whilst restoring their dignity; providing a hand up, not just a hand out.

In 2019-20 alone, we supported Queenslanders on 279,689 occasions, offering $258 million in services and support to those in need. This included $9.6 million given in direct emergency assistance such as feeding vulnerable people with $3.7 million in food parcels and vouchers and $7 million in disaster assistance for bushfire, drought and COVID-19 support).

In Queensland, we have 205 Conferences (local branches) within our eight Diocese, or regions. Our Vincentians and volunteers are supported by some staff; however costs are kept to a minimum, meaning more money goes directly to those who are requiring our help.

Helping so many is only possible by the generosity and compassion of our supporters. Together we can make a difference to many lives. Without our Vincentians and volunteers, and without your generous donations, our services and assistance would not be possible.
